Terms for using Margin, provided by magiclabs GmbH.

1. The service

Margin is a reading companion for personal use. It provides a local bookshelf, timers, reflection notes, optional on-device questions, and reading records. It does not monitor or block other apps, measure attention, provide medical treatment, or guarantee reductions in screen time. Recorded time is a bounded session timer, not proof of reading.

2. Your content

You keep your rights in content you add. Only import material you own or have permission to use. Margin does not provide a commercial ebook catalog. Do not use the service to infringe copyright or other rights. Keep a separate copy of important writing; local data and device backups remain under your control.

3. Free features and Margin Plus

Core reading, a local bookshelf, reflections, the weekly reading record, and a full data export are free. Margin Plus is an optional non-consumable, one-time purchase for the features described on its purchase screen. It is not an auto-renewing subscription. The price and applicable tax displayed by Apple at checkout govern your purchase. There is no payment through this website.

“Lifetime” or “yours to keep” means ongoing access to the purchased Plus features for the lifetime of the Margin app, subject to compatible devices and operating systems; it is not a promise of perpetual hosting, unlimited future products, or indefinite operating-system support. You can restore the purchase using the Apple account used to buy it. Refunded or revoked purchases may no longer grant Plus access.

4. Apple terms and consumer rights

The app is licensed under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Purchases, refunds, and any applicable withdrawal process are administered through Apple under its terms. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights, statutory guarantees, or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. For billing help, visit Apple’s purchase support.

5. Generated questions

Optional on-device questions may be inaccurate, irrelevant, or unsuitable. They are prompts for personal reflection, not factual authority or professional advice. You can ignore them, cancel generation, or use the standard prompt. Feature availability depends on your device, software, language, and Apple Intelligence settings.

6. Availability and responsibility

We aim to keep Margin useful and reliable, but uninterrupted or error-free operation cannot be guaranteed. Updates may be needed for compatibility and security. Liability is governed by applicable law and Apple’s license terms; mandatory protections, liability for intent or gross negligence, and injury to life, body, or health are not excluded by these terms.
