Can I read my own books?
Yes. Add a physical book or e-reader title and use Margin as your timer, or paste text you own or have permission to use. Margin doesn’t include a commercial ebook catalog or EPUB/PDF import.
Will Margin block my other apps?
No. Margin gives you a place to choose reading. Move it to your Home Screen where your usual feed sits, or create a Shortcuts automation using margin://read.
What happens to my notes?
Your books and thoughts stay in the app’s local storage on your device. No account or reading analytics. You can export or erase your data at any time. Device backups follow your Apple settings.
Do I need Apple Intelligence?
No. All core reading features work without it. On supported devices, an optional on-device model can offer a reflection question about what you just read. A standard question is always available.
